Rape Aggression Defense Classes
Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) is a national program designed to provide women with the concepts and methods needed for self-defense. The program enables women to take a more active role in protecting themselves and their psychological well-being.
Classes are taught by certified R.A.D. instructors over three evenings and cost $10. All women in the UC San Diego community – students, staff, faculty and affiliates – who are at least 16 years old are eligible to attend.
R.A.D. classes will teach you:
- Effective and proven self-defense techniques
- Awareness and prevention
- Risk reduction and avoidance
This course has a limited enrollment and fills quickly. If you enroll and then need to cancel, we require a minimum 24 hour notice. Attendance is required for all 12 hours of the course.
RAD for Women: April 11, 12 and 13, 5‒9 p.m.
RAD for Men: April 18, 19 and 20, 5‒9 p.m.
Location: Police Training Room, UC San Diego Police Department, Campus Services Complex ‒ Bldg. B
Cost: $10 for new participants; free to returning participants
